What You Need to Know
We want your day on the Gulf to be enjoyable from the moment you step aboard. Here are the important things to know before your Panama City Beach fishing charter.
How many anglers can fish on a trip?
The Reel Contender offers a more personalized fishing experience designed for smaller private fishing parties of 1 to 5 anglers.
What is provided with my fishing charter?
Bait, tackle and your fishing license are provided. That means you don’t need to arrive in Panama City Beach with your own fishing equipment just to enjoy a day aboard The Reel Contender.
What should I bring on the boat?
Bring sunglasses, sunscreen, drinks, snacks and a cooler to carry your catch home. You should also wear shoes with light-colored, non-skid bottoms.
How long are The Reel Contender fishing trips?
Fishing trips are offered from 5 to 10 hours and can be customized to fit your needs. Contact Captain David to discuss the type of trip that makes sense for your group.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Safety comes first. Captain David will answer questions about the conditions, and if he believes the trip would be unsafe or uncomfortable, the charter can be rescheduled for another date.
Should I tip the deckhand?
Yes. It is customary to tip your deckhand. The deckhand works to help make your fishing trip run smoothly and assists throughout your day on the water.
Do I need fishing experience?
No. The Reel Contender welcomes anglers with different levels of fishing experience. If you’re new to Gulf fishing, let Captain David know when you’re planning your trip.
